Vote Save America

Hi CWOW Friends,

The church is working on identifying focused issues for us to support as part of our 381-day commitment to racial justice. In my personal time, I’ve looked for ways to get politically active to support a change in leadership in our country so that justice can move forward. Of course, a big question is how to be effective. I’ve recently gotten involved with an organization that can make a real difference by getting out the vote. I’d like to invite you to consider getting involved too.
Vote Save America:  As we know, swing states have an outsized impact on elections. Vote Save America is an organization that is focused on this swing and has a well-developed program called Adopt-A-State, identifying six swing states to become involved in if you are not registered in one of the states. We are currently involved in the critical capacity-building phase in getting out the vote. Please check out their website for more ways to get involved.
My experience so far: I have adopted Florida as my state and have gone through 8 hours of Vote Save America training so I am able to assist anyone else who might want to get involved. I am surprised to find that I have become invested in Florida not only for its electoral votes but also for many of the issues that affect the citizens there, especially those issues that are associated with voter suppression, many of which are related to Black Lives (shout out to CWOW folks making the 381 commitment!).
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or if you’d like to hear more!
Peace,
Sharon Henthorn-Iwane
