CWOW Movie Night: The Farewell

With The Farewell, writer/director Lulu Wang has created a heartfelt celebration of both the way we perform family and the way we live it, masterfully interweaving a gently humorous depiction of the good lie in action with a richly moving story of how family can unite and strengthen us, often in spite of ourselves.

Here are the two ways to watch:
1) Stream using your Amazon Prime subscription.
2) Stream for free through Kanopy, with your public library account. If you haven’t already, you may want to sign up and get connected with this app prior to Friday evening to make sure you are ready to watch.

On Friday, we’ll meet up briefly at 7:30pm over the Summer Fun zoom link, kinda like meeting up in the theater lobby to say hi, sans the smell of theater popcorn wafting in the air (well, you might still capture that aroma in your home).

We’ll then keep the zoom meeting on -but muted, so folks can comment and send chat messages to the group throughout the movie!

We’ll then meet back together at approximately 9:20pm (for those who may watch at another time and want to still join us) to share reflections.
